Work Portfolio - Kings Island Internship 2011
This collection is from the internship I completed from March 2011 - October 2011. I was assigned to create signs for The Games Department for Kings Island. It involved using Illustrator to create vector images and signs that would be used to advertise and show the name of the games in the department.
Tic - Tac - Toe
This game did not come to full fruition throughout the year, the signs were created and the games name was later changed to "Tic - Tac - Throw" and then was replaced by another game.
Plinko
This game has been incredibly popular throughout the year, it's everyone's favorite game made popular by The Price Is Right. The signs were created in order to match the Plinko game boards.
Fool The Guesser
Fool The Guesser was an ongoing project based upon the game at Dorney Park, PA. I was assigned to recreate a new look for the Age & Weight game which we renamed Fool The Guesser. I chose to take some inspiration from the 1960's style game shows like The Newly Wed Game and The Price Is Right.
Lazer Maze - Funovation & Kings Island
Lazer Maze was a project that was not just limited to Kings Island. The game is an awesome attraction created by Funovation (check out their website here). My project was to create signage for the Games Department that showed the rules as well as the prizes that we offered for the winners of the game. My signage was well received and is currently at Kings Island as well as Dorney Park. The yellow stickers were created in order to promote the game as well as Kings Island. Each guest that plays the game receives the time in which is takes them to travel through the maze printed on the sticker.
Prize Barrel Crane
This is one of the first signs that I completed for the department. The sign is the background for a Big One crane machine that is filled with blue water jugs with the same sign around them. The idea is the signs gives the direction for how to redeem the prize to the guests because the prizes that are available from the crane can be redeemed for the jug. Around the sign in the crane are photos of the prizes that the guest can choose from because the jug is representative of the prize due to the fragility of the actual prizes.
